PhD Position at the Department of Molecular Pneumology Uniklinikum Erlangen
Your Task:
In this work you will analyze the role of T cells in the pathogenesis and resolution of asthma or lung cancer. Studies in human samples from ongoing recruitment in cooperation with either the Children Hospital or with the Thoracic Surgery at the Uniklinikum in Erlangen will translate murine findings in experimental model of disease. Finally, in vitro and ex vivo experiments will complete and address the involvement of molecular pathways. We are committed to use the most updated state of the art methods enclosing FACS analysis and RNA sequencing on sorted cells.
In addition, in vivo studies in murine model of disease we have an interest in therapeutic development and thus apply treatment intravenously, intraperitoneally and intranasally.
In all studies Methods of cellular and Molecular biology will be used (e.g. ELISA, Western Blot, Flow cytometry, Isolation of RNA, qPCR).
Your Profile:
- Completed university degree in natural science (e.g. Molecular biology, genetics, cell biology or immunology) or pharmacology
- Ability to work independently and goal-oriented.
- Reliability and ability to work in a team
- Good knowledge of English
Additionally beneficial are:
- Proof of the FELASA B course
- Knowledge in the field of flow cytometry
Remarks:
- Intended qualification depending on qualifications and personal requirements according to TV-L.
- The position is limited to 3 years starting as soon as possible.
